Odysseus was the rendering framework developed by me during my stay in Augmented Vision group. Odysseus was built from scratch with the main goals of providing:
High Quality Rendering in Real Time
A Programmable Graphic Pipeline based on shader technology
Effect and material handling in Real Time
A shared scene representation (possibility for more than one view)
While the main contribution is an High Quality Real Time 3D rendering engine, Odysseus has some extra goodies such as an Event framework, Physics simulation, Animation support, a scene model that is independent of file format, COLLADA support for read/write, network interfaces to send/receive events, GStreamer integration by offering an Odysseus Sink and Source, several stereo modes, possible to have several views of the same model, support for huge point clouds rendering, etc...
Studio is a standalone application built upon the Odysseus Framework.
It was developed to fill the needs of Real Time High Quality Rendering for Augmented and Virtual Reality applications.
Other than a standalone visualizer, Studio can also be used for iteractive design review sessions. It is easy to
load your 3D scene and start changing the appeareance by loading and tweaking our virtual materials based on shaders.
Studio development as currently ended. Some of the relevant features were:
Physics(Using Bullet Physics Engine and COLLADA physics support)
Animations
Skeleton Animation and Skinning (using shader pipeline)
Render to Target exposed to shaders and Scene Effects pipeline
Odysseus Studio is available as a free download. While it is free to download and use, no support or warranty of use is given by the author.
This version of Studio will work only on 64 bit Windows based systems.
This version of Studio will work on 32 and 64 bit Windows based systems.
This version of Studio will only work on 64 bit Mac OS X (from Lion on).
On Mac systems with 2 GPUs you must use the one associated with the performance profile.
Studio will not work with the likes of Intel HD Graphics...
This version of Studio will only work on 64 bit Debian based systems.
